This male kestrel is a great visual example of what a bird can become if it's fed incorrectly from a young age. You think chicken breasts and meat from a supermarket is better for the bird than mice? You'll end up with a rickety animal whose feathers look like fur, who won't be able to lift itself more than a meter off the ground. This bird is lucky its bones and joints simply grew incorrectly and didn't break in various places.
Someone "raised" this bird, thinking they did good, and decided to do another "good deed": release a handicapped bird into the wild! Again, it's lucky it got found and handed over to us.
