In September 2017 I took home 7 pond froglings that just grew out of being pollywogs from an airport puddle that was going to be filled with earth. They were a size of a nail and still had tails. One frogling immediately perished, it was stunted and did not survive its first week as a frog. Others took root in the terrarium, grew up and matured. In 2018 during summertime I decided to let all of them free in our village. But eventually only four immigrants left with me. The fifth one had a hind leg injury, and I couldn't find the sixth one and decided that he died and disappeared somewhere in the terrarium jungles. Mostly because these frogs are extremely fearful and can hide really well, I saw them no more than once a month, and not all together. Four of them were safely released into nature, and I saw the sixth one in the terrarium later, closer to wintertime. It did not die at all, just disguised itself really well. Since then I see these two frogs from time to time, mostly in the early morning, when they are not going to hide yet after the night hunt.
And so I managed to spot and catch the Fifth, who doesn't have a foot on his hind leg. It seems that he is not very pleased.
