Instead of watching a series of some series, you can spend 45 minutes of your life observing persistent zoologists who harvest oak leaves and other stuff of animals for winter.
Oak leaves are not only elegant, but they are also useful filler for terrariums, aviaries, food for many invertebrates. Due to tannins, the leaves do not mould, have some antibacterial properties and do not deteriorate for a long time. Therefore, they are harvested in large quantities in the zoo before winter.
It so conveniently happened that next to where I work I have an excellent oak forest with centuries-old oaks, so they brought me with them to show them the way there.
The rotten oaks are eaten by many beetles, including tropical types of Goliath beetles, which Andrei bred. My millipedes eat them too.
