About a week ago, I purchased three seedlings of fruit trees from a discount store.
They looked good and were inexpensive.
This is an excellent reason to once again demonstrate clearly why it is necessary to check the roots of such seedlings.
Once, when buying tree seedlings, the sellers told me not to sort out the clod of earth and not to disturb the roots. They told me to take off the bag and put the lump in the hole without touching it.
That's what I did. When the problems with the trees started, I didn't understand what was going on. I decided to transplant and found that the roots there were bent 180° at the bottom of the bag and directed vertically upwards.
Another seedling has spirals twisted and crumpled into a pile.
If I had looked at it right away, I would have gotten plants with excellent root systems that need to be straightened out when planting.
As it is, all my trees have withered.
And the buried root neck of plants on sale is generally a common thing. It is absolutely necessary to free it from the ground!
