In a big family you snooze, you lose!
I will never forget the first time I saw a family of hawk owls. They were Iva's parents with the litter of her sisters and brothers just a year before Iva's birth. The owlets were big and could fly already, but the parents still took care about providing them food keeping their eyes on feeding everyone. So, an owlet had some chicken meat, ate a little bit and hid the rest really carefully at the tree branch it was sitting on. And then it began to mind its own business being near the stache. And the next moment one of the parents flew up to it, took out hidden meat with no fuss and gave it to another owlet stuffing it with food. The look of the meat initial owner is impossible to forget. And being an elder sister I also remembered all my childhood offends cause I always heard this: "She is younger, can't you spare?" I felt so bad for that insulted owlet. Sure thing, it wasn't left hungry, but... And Iva is an old head on young shoulders. She knows what place is the best for hiding food!
