Owl Yoll without eggs for the second day. How does the owl spend his free time?

On the second day of release from the tedious maternal duties, Eagle owl Yoll has already completely returned to her usual life and affairs: she laid out pillows in the aviary, took out toys, ate a rat, swung on a swing, bathed in a basin, sat on all the stumps.
But sometimes flashbacks roll over her, she rushes to the place where the nest was, starts digging holes and trying to sit down there to hatch something. At such moments, I just distract her and move her to another place. There, the owl turns off the mommy mode and she goes back to doing useful things.

Translation: Second day without eggs. How does Yoll spend her free time? Liberated from exhausting maternal duties, Yoll didn`t take long to resume her usual activities: she re-decorated her aviary with elegantly dispersed pillows, took out hidden toys, ate a rat, swayed on a swing, bathed in a basin, checked all tree-stumps. She still has flashbacks though. Sometimes she rushes to her nesting place, digs holes and tries to settle down in them to hatch invisible eggs. I simply distract her and move her to another place. It turns Yoll`s motherly mode off, she gets back to entertaining herself with all kinds of other owlish things.

Thank you so much M_c - you have been very much missed! I hope all is well with you. I have also noticed that Yoll seems more kindly towards Nika since Nika proved to be such an excellent midwife during Yoll's quite long hatching period. A month is a long time! Now I'm wondering how Nika will manage the actual Yoll plus male partner process. Will it be IVF? or, will it be a relationship with a partner? It is going to be very exciting. Yoll's wonderful acclimatisation to aviary life is proof that everything came at the right time for Nika's dream of establishing a rescue centre and aviary for Yoll who can never be released into the wild. She is an older mother, but she is still just right to be a good mother. Yoll has really proven herself as a diligent mother up to the giving birth and incubation stage. It's also possible to see how complex it is for birds going through the hatching process. It takes over their life just as babies take over our human lives, even to the point where there's barely time to eat, bathe or go to the loo! Lovely to see you back where you belong too M_c 🤗🙏🏻🌺🥰

@@tosca... Thank you! Actually I was here almost all the time, but translations hadn`t been pinned. They are out there somewhere)) Still it`s nice to hear that I was missed. As for Yoll, Nika will think of something. Yoll became very motherly and affectionate indeed. I am curious how long will it last.

@@noregrets7640 просто после того как в семье появляется человек полностью зависящий от тебя и ты без него даже в туалет не можешь сходить без истерики; очень сильно меняет жизнь и ограничивает свободу, но радость действительно есть (это как твой очень близкий друган как отмочит чего хоть стой хоть падай, ну и видимо гормонально есть привязанность что этот человечек становится важней всех боишься что с ним что-то случится)

@@user-SimKatrin а папа у ребенка существует? Или вы в туалет ходите три часа, что ребенок не может один полежать 10-15 минут? Никогда ребенок мне ничего не ограничивал и даже больше скажу у меня было свободное время для себя. Всегда.

@@irvymetallium2520 видимо у всех разный уровень ответственности и тревожности, да и дети разные есть такие что сами по себе с игрушками сидят, а есть и те что от мамки отлипнуть не могут. У всех разные обстоятельства, вам видимо повезло. А на папу как скинуть ребёнка если он на работе, уже год прошёл и я работаю, а с ребёнком по очереди на больничном сидим, а так садик очень выручает)) Не злитесь и не думайте что у всех всё одинаково.

Надеюсь, что в скором будущем угушки у Ёлки вернутся к нормальным. Сейчас они у неё до сих пор как будто сдавленные слегка и отрывистые. А были довольно размашистые, с более долгим затуханием у второго слога.
