I apologise for the vertical video. I did not plan to shoot anything on the video, it just happened. Anyway, I didn’t plan to upload this video, because I’m too lazy to explain to strange smart people that I do not poison birds and do not feed owls for magpies or vice versa.
This is one of the last videos of magpies in my home, as a couple of days ago she went to live with a friend on a personal plot in the Moscow region.
Nothing threatens the birds. Before releasing them together, I carefully watched their reaction to each other. I released them after understanding that they did not perceive each other negatively and there was no aggression. This phenomenon actually surprised me very much. Since Gnus the little owl usually attacks all the birds that appear in his room. The magpie is also not afraid of owls at all, although owls by their appearance frighten almost all species of non-predatory birds, including corvids.
When the magpie entered the mew, it was empty. Gnus flew after her, then Yunya, who immediately went to hide in the hole. Gnus left to watch the guest.
The Magpie didn’t jump specially on the Gnus - from below she couldn’t see that he was sitting there. Gnus then gave her a kick deliberately, as she came too close. No one were aiming to kill each other, and no one was even particularly indignant.
Once upon a time, when Gnus was very young, I had another magpie. Perhaps the owls remember her, so they calmly accepted the new magpie. But this is only a hunch.
