The first day of giving medicine to owls is the most difficult for me.
I need to figure out how to prepare the medicine and how to put it in the syringes. Treating a bird is not just about "giving them a pill and a glass of water." It's about calculating the dosage based on their weight, breaking the small pill into pieces, grinding it into a powder, dissolving it in water, and measuring out the correct amount for them to drink.
Then the bird has to be caught and fixed and force-fed with medicine, then wipe yourself off everything that she spat out, go to repeat everything again and again to stuff it so that she does not spit out. Then sit and watch, does not the bird regurgitate everything while you do not see. So, for example, does the male of the new owls.
Long and tedious. Very long - a course of treatment for about a month, and then according to the results of new tests.
Dog Cube began to limp very seriously. Because of the fuss with the owls, it didn't get into the video, but he started limping on Tuesday evening after returning from the vet. At first, it wasn't much, but by morning, he didn't want to step on his front right paw.
We made an appointment for an X-ray with a veterinary traumatologist in Moscow. This is our friend and colleague, Maria Markina. He will take time off from his vacation to examine Kub and perform the X-ray. We need to go to Moscow because there is no X-ray facility in the nearby cities.
It was a veterinary week, and a period of mass treatment began.
