In such situations, I have bouts of empathy, I am very impressed, but I try to keep myself in hand.
All manipulations with the owl are carried out under local anesthesia, it does not hurt, but it is scary and disturbing.
On the X-ray of the Malinka scops owl, a surgical steel spoke was found in the broken wing, which was installed a year ago and apparently forgot to pull out. I didn't know anything about this operation, Kalinka and Malinka arrived without a medical history.
The needle had to be pulled out of the wing, since its tip was sticking out of the bone and when the wing moved, it touched its tissues.
Now Malinka is fine, she has occupied Kalinka's house. Probably because it's easier to climb there on twigs without the help of wings.

I didn’t know anything about that initial surgery, both Kalinka and Malinka got to me with no medical records. The spoke had to be extracted since its tip stuck out of the bone and scrached tissues every time Malinka flapped her wing. Now Malinka feels fine, she is recovering in Kalinka's house. Probably she occupied it because it was easier for her to climb up there without use of wings.

На самом деле очень интересно, как все это делается у ветеринаров. Даже если в жизни вряд ли пригодится, ну как и 99% того, что все так охотно смотрят на ютубе - от профессионального мытья супер-грязных ковров до вырезания кувшинов из коряг, залитых эпоксидной смолой. Так что можно смело загружать и полные версии, по крайней мере на канал Марии)

Спица какая-то и правда не хирургическая. Больше на какую-то скрепку похоже))) Как Маркина и говорила - сразу после получения животного надо его везти к профильному ветеринару и исследовать всё что только можно. Птиченьке здоровья, Нике моральных сил не падать в обморок)))
