Avian veterinarian Maria Markina ( redtabby) examined Yt, confirming my assumption that she is a female.
The video contains a detailed explanation of what, why and how to feed insectivorous owls.
The main diagnosis is obesity. We found traces of parasite in her - a tapeworm, which confirms her origin from nature. Mycobacteriosis, which is very contagious to the surrounding birds, was ruled out, so Yt is not dangerous for my other owls.
Now, Yt will undergo rehabilitation and preparation for release into the wild. In addition to the scops owl, we also examined a wild long-eared owl found with a damaged wing. There will be a separate video about her later.
So, at the moment I have two owls that have come to stay at my home for treatment: a scops owl and a long-eared owl. Thanks to your financial support, I can provide all the necessary assistance to the birds without any problems and worries. Thanks you! Owls are saved, and that's great! :)
