For the first minute the video is black because it was filmed in the dark at night. I often find such videos on my phone, and I can't even remember filming them. Here's how it goes: I get woken up by singing owls, I press "record", film in the dark for a couple of minutes, turn off the camera and go back to sleep. And it's all good.
After the first minute, I filmed the rest of the video during daytime, when Gnus started screaming after hearing the recorded voice of Chuchundriy. Later on I left my editing work three times to go and film the little owls.
This is another big reason NOT to keep owls as pets. Owls are nocturnal. They sing at night. Or rather, they SCREAM during nighttime. And this sound can be heard through walls. And it's almost impossible to get them to stop. You can distract them for some time, but you can't shut them up. My flat is fairly soundproof, so my neighbours don't complain, though some thing I've got a baby that cries at night. But inside the flat itself there is no soundproofing, so all of this screaming is right next to you. For me it's okay. I live alone, I like waking up at night, and 4-5 hours of sleep are enough for me to function normally after waking up at 05:00. The video that's all black was recorded at 04:00 on November the 25th. As you can see, owls can sing even when it's not spring time. I can do it throughout the year, just for fun.
And this isn't so bad. For example, a tawny owl screams like a crazy climaxing nymphomaniac, so loudly that all your neighbours within a 50 m radius would hear it. Yes, after this you wouldn't dare to look people in the eye, and no one would believe it's an owl. Especially if you're a married man, and your wife is away on a business trip...
