Owl Yoll did not try to escape or fly away to freedom or do something else to be away from home. She was just scared by the snow that fell at the neighbor's window, she jumped sharply to the side, the cord jerked and broke, unable to withstand the load. Last time, the metal part of the leash broke. This time we all knew that the new straps on the paws might be weak, but I'm watching them, they're all right. It broke where I did not expect: a braid of duct tape peeled off from the metal ring of the additive due to frost, the metal rubbed a synthetic cable, which broke with a sharp jerk. The owl did not expect this, she planned to jump on the box to the Christmas trees, and by inertia flew to the birch tree, sitting on it. She was not going to fly anywhere further, as she considers everything within the radius of visibility of our window and balcony to be her home and her territory. Eagle Owls are sedentary birds. They spend time on their territory, which they can leave only in search of food or if something scares them and expels them. Therefore, the owl Yoll is not going to fly anywhere, she does not even have such a thing in her thoughts. But her very position like this in the city without insurance is very dangerous. A bird can get tangled in wires, crash into glass, get run over by a car or by incompetent people. A hungry owl is dangerous for walking small dogs and cats. But the most dangerous thing is the cord that remained tied to the owl's paws. With this cord, you can catch on and hang in a place where you may not have time to find it.
That is why we began to remove the owl from the branch as soon as possible. So that she doesn't get confused and hurt. I called Yegor with a request to stop by the store to buy a ladder and help remove the Owl Yoll from the tree. I myself watched her so as not to miss the moment if she wanted to fly off the branch. I have a special rod with a hook, which I used last time to get a stuck owl in the same way. But this time the length was not enough. There were no stairs in the nearest shops. But with the help of Egor, a stepladder, and a six-meter rod, the owl managed to pull down from the tree. She resisted and held on to the branch with her paws with all her might, because it's scary when an unknown thing drags you somewhere. But we managed to pull it lower, it flew to a nearby tree and from there we took it without any problems. The owl escaped with a slight fright, because of which there was a lot of indignation.
Egor well done! Thank him very much! It's good that he changed out of his official uniform before his arrival, but everything would look much more epic in it! (Because he's a cop!)
While I was waiting for Egor and watching the owl from the window, neighbors came to me and called to say that my owl had gotten loose and was sitting on a tree. Everyone was worried and wished good luck in returning. But the owners of small dogs who passed right under the owl with their pets did not notice the owl at all. It's good that Yoll is not interested in small animals.
This time, the owl Yoll sat "outside" from 8.30 am to 11.30 am. The three hours she spent talking to the crows. At the beginning of the video, it is clear that the cord overflowed her wing, and she took it off herself. Egor could not hook her with a hook for a long time because she held this cord with her paws together with a branch.
